Anti-Semitic Flyers, Possible Rat Poison Found Scattered in Chicago’s Lincoln Park

Monday morning in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, a disturbing discovery unfolded as dozens of bags containing anti-Semitic flyers and potentially toxic substances, suspected to be “rat poison,” were found strewn across the area.

The unsettling incident was brought to light by 43rd Ward Alderman Timmy Knudsen, whose office received reports of the flyers scattered in central Lincoln Park, particularly near Geneva Terrace and Belden. Prompt action was taken as Knudsen alerted the authorities, including the Chicago Police Department and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), given that some of the flyers bore the organization’s logo.

Expressing deep concern, Knudsen condemned the hateful act, emphasizing that such occurrences are not new to the ward. In a resolute statement, he addressed the perpetrators directly, denouncing their actions as acts of hate. He vowed that both his office and the Chicago Police Department would ensure accountability, firmly asserting that threats against the Jewish community are abhorrent and will not be tolerated.

“This is not the first time our ward has seen incidents like this. To the people who are spreading these flyers, I have a clear message: you are committing acts of hate,” Knudsen stated. “My office, as well as the Chicago Police Department, will hold you accountable. Your threats against the Jewish community are repulsive, and vile, and will not be tolerated in our community.”
