Actor Jonathan Majors Sentenced to Probation in Assault Case

Actor Jonathan Majors narrowly avoided jail time but received probation on Monday for his role in assaulting his ex-girlfriend, a case that has significantly impacted his once-promising career.

The 34-year-old star of “Creed III” and other acclaimed films faced a potential year of incarceration after being convicted of misdemeanor assault by a Manhattan jury in December.

Judge Michael Gaffey’s sentencing also mandated that Majors complete a 52-week in-person batterer’s intervention program and continue with mental health therapy.

The repercussions of Majors’ actions were swift and severe. Marvel Studios promptly severed ties with the actor following the guilty verdict, dropping him from his anticipated role as Kang the Conqueror, a pivotal character in their cinematic universe.

The conviction stemmed from a March altercation where Majors’ former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, accused him of assaulting her in a chauffeured car, alleging he struck her head, twisted her arm, and fractured her finger.

Majors contended that Jabbari instigated the incident, driven by jealousy over a text message from another woman on his phone. He maintained that his actions were merely in self-defense, aimed at retrieving his phone and safely distancing himself from Jabbari.
