Country Star Morgan Wallen Arrested After Chair-Throwing Incident in Nashville

Country sensation Morgan Wallen found himself in hot water once again as he was arrested for allegedly hurling a chair from a rooftop bar in Nashville’s bustling Broadway district.

The 30-year-old “Last Night” crooner was taken into custody just after midnight on Monday and subsequently released around 3:30 a.m., as confirmed by records from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Wallen stands accused of tossing a chair from the rooftop of Chief’s on Broadway, a popular six-story establishment owned by fellow country artist Eric Church.

Officers present at the scene witnessed the chair plummeting from above, barely missing them by a mere 3 feet, reported Tennessee Daily Times, citing police accounts.

Security personnel implicated Wallen in the incident, with surveillance footage allegedly capturing the singer lunging forward and throwing an object from the rooftop. Witnesses corroborated these claims, recounting how Wallen picked up the chair, launched it, and then chuckled at the spectacle.

Wallen faces charges of three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was later released from custody upon posting a $15,250 bond.

In response to the incident, Wallen’s attorney assured that the singer is fully cooperating with authorities.

This isn’t Wallen’s first brush with legal trouble in the Broadway area. In May 2020, he was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct outside Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse, as reported by the Tennessean.

The country star has also weathered controversy following a 2021 incident where he was recorded using a racial slur. Despite the backlash, Wallen remained a commercial powerhouse, even donating a substantial sum to various organizations following the incident.

Despite these setbacks, Wallen’s musical career continues to thrive. His third studio album, “One Thing at a Time,” dominated the charts in 2023, spending an impressive 16 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200.

Wallen recently embarked on the 2024 leg of his “One Night at a Time World Tour,” selling out stadiums across the nation, cementing his status as one of country music’s brightest stars.
